AASG REPORT: Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

30 November 2025

We came from one goal down to earn a draw at Stamford Bridge and move five points clear at the top of the table.

After a full-blooded first-half, in which Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo was sent off for a lunging foul on Mikel Merino, the hosts took the lead from a corner just after the restart, through Trevoh Chalobah.

We started to push the ten men back after that, and drew level when Merino headed in from Bukayo Saka’s cross.

We couldn’t find the winner, though this result made it 17 games unbeaten in all competitions.

High-paced start

The atmosphere was typically crackling for another London derby, and the challenges were flying in too. Martin Zubimendi, Marc Cucurella and Cristhian Mosquera were all booked in the opening 12 minutes.

The first chance fell to us, when Eberechi Eze worked the ball to Bukayo Saka inside the area. He had time to steady himself but his low shot was saved by Robert Sanchez.

At the other end Declan Rice made a superb timely tackle on Pedro Neto as he pulled the trigger at close range.

Estevao then blasted over when well placed in the area.

Our defence started to come under pressure. It’s only the second time in the last 162 Premier League games that we lined up without either Gabriel or William Saliba in the side, after the Frenchman picked up a knock in training.

Mosquera partnered Piero Hincapie at the back, but it was Jurrien Timber whop came across to make a superb challenge on Enzo Fernandez on 20 minutes when the Argentine was through on goal through the middle.
