Tinubu appoints Adesayo Michael as NEMSA CEO

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Adesayo Michael as the managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) board.

NEMSA was established by the federal government to enforce technical standards, regulations, and conduct inspections, testing, and certification of electrical installations and meters in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson, announced the appointment in a statement on Tuesday.

Michael replaces Aliyu Tahir, the previous CEO of the agency.

The president also appointed Aliyu Abdulazeez as NEMSA’s executive director, technical; Ikechi Nwosu as the agency’s chairman, south-east; Zubair Idris as the agency’s member; and Igba Elizabeth as NEMSA’s member, north-central.

Other NEMSA appointees include Sani Shehu (member, north-east), Adeyemi Adetunji (member, south-west), Emmanuel Nkpe (member, south-south), and Charles Asogwa (south-east).

According to the statement, Tinubu also named Magaji Aliyu as the managing director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex in Abuja.

“The Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) is responsible for conducting research and development in technology and for operating a nuclear research facility,” the statement reads.

The president also nominated Amina Gamawa, representing Bauchi, and Abdullahi Muktar, representing Kaduna, as commissioners to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

The statement noted that the president has sent the names of both nominees to the senate for confirmation.
