…reiterates commitment to partnership in fight against insecurity
Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has praised President Bola Tinubu for appointing Tunji Disu as the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP).

He commended the efforts of the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), and other paramilitary agencies, reaffirming his commitment to effective collaboration in strengthening the nation’s security sector.
He said, “During the meeting, we discussed key issues regarding security and peace in the South West and Nigeria in general. I assured our host of my readiness and commitment to synergise in ensuring a more safe and secured Yorubaland if given approval by President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.
“Without a peaceful and enabling atmosphere in the society, we cannot achieve any meaningful growth for our country. That is why everyone should cooperate with the government at all tiers to guarantee peace and tranquility in Nigeria.
“Various issues affecting the South West were painstakingly discussed and solutions were proffered. For the sake of peace, I want to affirm my position that the Igbos should present a common front to midwife the release of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently serving a life sentence in Sokoto Correctional facility.”
