President Bola Tinubu has nominated Taiwo Oyedele, chairman of the presidential committee on fiscal policy and tax reforms, as the minister of state for finance.
Oyedele is expected to take over from Doris Uzoka-Anite, who is to move to the ministry of budget and planning as minister of state — her third portfolio in Tinubu’s administration.
In a statement on Tuesday, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, said Tinubu sent a letter to the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, conveying Oyedele’s nomination and requesting the senate’s confirmation.
“Oyedele, 50, is an economist, accountant and public policy expert,” the presidential spokesperson said
“He attended Yaba College of Technology, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in accountancy and finance. He attended Oxford Brookes University and earned a BSc in applied accounting.
