Ekiti APC Primaries: The Three Incumbent Senators Representing Ekiti State Won Their Party’s Tickets

In the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections held on May 18, 2026, for the 2027 senatorial elections, the three incumbent senators representing Ekiti State won their party’s tickets.

The three successful candidates include:

Ekiti Central: Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele secured the ticket unopposed with 29,586 affirmative votes across the district.

Ekiti North: Cyril Fasuyi clinched the ticket, polling 14,179 votes to defeat former Senator Ayo Arise and other aspirants.

Ekiti South: Yemi Adaramodu retained his ticket, defeating former Senate Minority Leader Biodun Olujimi by polling 12,200 votes to her 7,420.

He said in part, “In Ekiti Central Senatorial District, I, Wasiu Adedoyin, Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Election Committee, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Ekiti South Senatorial Primary Election held on the 18th day of May, 2026.

That Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and Guidelines, and having scored the highest number of valid votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and is returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District.

“In Ekiti North Senatorial District, that Senator Cyril Fasuyi, having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and Guidelines, and having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and is returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Ekiti North Senatorial District.

“In Ekiti South Senatorial District, that Senator Yemi Adaramodu having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and Guidelines, and having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and is returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Ekiti South Senatorial District”.
