Parallex Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment by rewarding 10 outstanding athletes from the Lagos State contingent to the 2025 National Youth Games in Asaba with ₦1 million each, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at celebrating excellence and inspiring the next generation.
The award presentation, held at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos, saw the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Olufemi Bakre, present symbolic cheques to the athletes in the presence of the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, coaches and other stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, Bakre said: “At Parallex Bank, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in the future. These exceptional athletes have demonstrated excellence, discipline and resilience, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements. Through this recognition, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering young talents and enabling limitless possibilities for the next generation.”
The recognition followed the impressive performance of the Lagos State contingent at the 2025 National Youth Games, where the athletes won medals across several sporting events.
The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission commended Parallex Bank for demonstrating exemplary corporate social responsibility, noting that the bank’s support has continued to motivate young athletes and contribute meaningfully to sports development in the state.
He added that the partnership between the commission and Parallex Bank is a long-term collaboration that will continue to grow in line with the bank’s vision and commitment to excellence.
The initiative builds on the bank’s support for Lagos athletes in previous editions of the National Youth Games and reflects Parallex Bank’s commitment to recognising excellence, empowering young people and creating lasting social impact.
