World Bank Approves $1.25 Billion Support Package for Nigeria

The World Bank has approved a new $1.25 billion financing package to support Nigeria’s 2026–2032 development programme aimed at creating jobs, attracting private investment and expanding access to essential service

According to the World Bank, the partnership will focus on improving electricity supply, digital infrastructure, agriculture and private sector development. The initiative is expected to promote inclusive economic growth while strengthening Nigeria’s long-term development agenda.

The funding is also expected to support reforms that encourage investment, improve public service delivery and create more employment opportunities, particularly for young people. The World Bank said the programme reflects its continued commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic transformation and sustainable development.
