Tinubu Orders ICPC Probe into Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the activities of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and all related matters.The directive follows allegations and public concerns surrounding the council’s operations. The Presidency said the investigation is aimed at establishing the facts, ensuring accountability and maintaining transparency in government affairs.
According to the directive, the ICPC has been given 30 days to conclude its investigation and submit a comprehensive report to the President for further action.The Presidency stated that the probe will examine the activities of the PFIPC, its operations and any individuals or organisations connected to the matter. It emphasised that no one found culpable would be shielded from the law if evidence of wrongdoing emerges.The decision underscores the administration’s commitment to promoting transparency, strengthening public confidence in government institutions and ensuring that allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated.The ICPC is expected to commence its investigation immediately, engaging relevant individuals and reviewing available documents as part of the fact-finding process.The Presidency has urged the public to allow the investigative process to run its course and refrain from speculation while the commission carries out its assignment. The outcome of the investigation is expected to determine the next line of action once the report is submitted to the President within the stipulated timeframe.
