The presidency says federal government’s huge investment in infrastructure across the country is intended to stimulate businesses and boost the economy.
Speaking in Kogi state on Monday, Fredrick Nwabufo, senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu on public engagement, said the country under the current administration has become a “massive construction yard”, reflecting the priority that the government places on infrastructural investment.
Nwabufo spoke during an inspection of the ongoing reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran federal road in Yagba west LGA of Kogi by the presidential media team, which is touring federal and state government projects in the state.
He noted that the infrastructure investment is aimed at improving connectivity and stimulating economic activities in communities where the projects are located.
“The interesting thing is that a project like this is not localised in one section of the country; it is happening in all sections of the country,” he said.
“Right now, as I speak, the entire stretch of the country is one massive construction yard. That tells you the priority the Tinubu administration has placed on infrastructural investment.
“Investment in infrastructure does not only improve accessibility but also boosts economic activities. When this work is completed in the coming months, more commercial activities will be stimulated around this corridor. So, this is one big plus for the Tinubu’s administration and for the renewed hope agenda.”
The delegation was led by Sunday Dare, special adviser to the president on media and public communications, and Tunde Rahman, senior special assistant to the president on media and special duties.
