Dangote Offers ₦500,000 Reward for Information on Illegal Use of Company Trucks
Dangote Industries Limited has introduced a public whistleblowing initiative that offers a cash reward of ₦500,000 to individuals who provide credible information leading to the arrest of offenders or the recovery of unauthorized goods being transported using Dangote-branded trucks.The company said the initiative forms part of its efforts to protect the integrity of its nationwide logistics operations and eliminate the illegal use of its vehicles for commercial haulage.
In a statement issued in Lagos, Dangote Industries urged members of the public to report any suspected cases involving the misuse of its trucks. The company stressed that only approved products are permitted to be transported by vehicles belonging to its subsidiaries.
According to the company, Dangote Cement trucks are authorized to transport only cement, limestone, gypsum, coal and clinker. Dangote Sugar trucks are restricted to sugar products, while NASCON Allied Industries vehicles are designated for salt and seasoning products. Trucks belonging to Dangote Fertiliser are approved to transport urea fertilizer, and Dangote Petroleum Refinery vehicles are permitted to haul polypropylene products.The company warned that any Dangote truck found transporting unauthorized goods would be treated as engaging in illegal haulage activities. It added that drivers and owners of such goods could face arrest, confiscation of the cargo and prosecution in accordance with Nigerian law.
Dangote Industries encouraged whistleblowers to provide useful details such as the truck registration number, cab number, location, description of the goods being transported and photographs where available to assist investigations.The company also announced that dedicated reporting channels have been established to receive information from the public, while law enforcement agencies have been empowered to investigate reports and arrest offenders.
Dangote Industries stated that the initiative reinforces its zero-tolerance policy against logistics-related fraud and is intended to strengthen transparency, accountability and compliance across its transportation network.The company called on Nigerians to support the campaign by reporting suspicious activities, noting that public cooperation will help safeguard legitimate business operations and ensure that those involved in illegal haulage are brought to justice.
