Tinubu Meets Security Chiefs Over Rising Insecurity Across Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has convened a high-level meeting with Nigeria’s security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to review the country’s security situation and strengthen efforts to address rising insecurity.The closed-door meeting brought together key members of the nation’s security architecture, including the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police and heads of other security and intelligence agencies.

Although details of the discussions were not immediately made public, the meeting is understood to have focused on the persistent security challenges facing different parts of the country, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, communal clashes and other violent crimes.The President is expected to receive comprehensive briefings from the security chiefs on ongoing military and law enforcement operations, recent developments across the country and strategies to improve national security.The meeting comes amid renewed calls from Nigerians for stronger measures to tackle insecurity and protect lives and property. It also follows a series of security operations carried out by the armed forces and other agencies in various parts of the country.
