Fans Celebrate Nollywood Icon Joke Silva at 64
Fans and admirers of veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva have showered her with goodwill messages and tributes as she clocked 64.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), social media platforms on Monday were flooded with heartfelt wishes for the legendary screen star.
Silva, fondly called “Aunty J,” had earlier taken to her verified Instagram page, @ajokesilva, to thank God for His grace and blessings over her life.
She wrote:
“Grateful Lord for your Mercy, your Faithfulness, for protection, for Provision, for Family, for Friends, for Colleagues. Thank you, King of Glory, for 64 amazing years.”
Her post drew warm reactions from fans, colleagues, and fellow celebrities, who joined in celebrating the milestone.
Media mogul @moabudu posted, “Happy birthday big sis, all my love.”
Actress @chisomasanya added, “Happy birthday beautiful mama.”
Filmmaker @shangeorgefilms wrote, “Happy birthday Aunty J, I wish you good health, wealth, prosperity, and more grace.”
Actor @samdedesdx shared, “Happy birthday to you, Aunty Jay. Many happy returns in sound health. Cheers.”
While @insighteunice described her as “ever gorgeous, eloquent, and amazing sweet mummy J.”

Born on September 29, 1961, in Lagos State, Joke Silva made her major film breakthrough in 1998, starring alongside Colin Firth and Nia Long in the British-Canadian movie The Secret Laughter of Women.
Over the decades, she has featured in numerous films and TV productions in both English and Yoruba, with one of her earliest roles being in the 1990 British television series Mind Bending.
Her illustrious career has earned her several awards and recognitions, including the 2006 Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
In 2012, she was appointed a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime goodwill ambassador, and in 2014, she was conferred with the national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).
